Age:  38

Gender:  Male

Primary Occupation:  Mechanic

Secondary Occupation (optional):  Demolitions Expert

Appearance:  Straight, short, dark but graying hair. Short of stature. Not muscular, but not slight of build. He can carry his share of the load, but that's about it. Gaunt eyes unless he's smiling, which is often.

Faceclaim:  Rick Gomez

Initial Personality:  Sarcastic and witty. Often the voice of reason, but also morally flexible. He'll try to dissuade against killing if there's another way or if it'll bring down too much heat, but won't hesitate to pull the trigger. Plus, some folk just need killing. He likes to cook because it's a very low stakes way to show his value. If he screws up as a mechanic, people could die, including himself. If he screws up an explosive charge, the WRONG people could die, including himself. But if he cooks a bad meal, the worst thing that could happen is an easily extinguished kitchen fire or someone swallowing down the wrong tube.

Underlying Personality:  Insecure. Knows he can't survive in this verse without allies and partners so he's terrified of not upholding his end of bargains or outliving his usefulness. He likes explosives because he grew up with them and they're a a very clear example of cause and effect. As someone not blessed with height, he likes the idea that something small like simply pressing a button can cause an explosive reaction. Just like a few twists of a wrench can carry a ship across the 'verse. Though he has a respect for explosives, he's not a firebug. Some people just want to watch the whole 'verse burn, but Ick ain't one of them. In fact, these days he's more interested in the mechanic trade. Mechanic skills are more sought after, and it's something he learned on his own instead of taught practically from birth, so he takes more pride in his mechanic work. His long prison sentence saved him from picking sides in the war. Prison left him no love for the Alliance NOW...but if he were honest with himself, he has no idea which side he would have chosen to fight for. He knows he would have fought, though.

Known History:  Born 2481, Manufacturing Hub D, Beaumonde.
Parents: Asher and Rachel Rosewater, both deceased.
Siblings: Avram Rosewater, born 2479
Spouse: Daiyu Rosewater nee Nguyen. No children.
Medical history: No known allergies or chronic ailments. Received a collarbone fracture in a prison fight, an isolated occurrence. Fully healed, per penitentiary medical staff.
Education: No record of academic enrollment beyond high school graduation. Records show enrollment and completion of unaccredited correspondence courses in the culinary arts.

Employment history:
2499-2505: MHD Munitions. Immediately terminated upon his arrest for arson leading to the death of five Alliance military personnel, including one officer.
2505-2515: Ward of the state as an inmate of Ignom Penitentiary.
2515-2517: Cargo Ship Harry Bridges, Mechanic
2517-2518: Cargo Ship Mustered, Mechanic
2518-Present: Owner/Operator Echo Valley Parts and Fix-It

Other History:  One of two sons of munitions factory workers on Beaumonde, Ick missed out on the war because he was serving a sentence in an Alliance prison.  Ick didn't set the explosives that derailed a troop transport, but he did make those explosives and someone dropped dime on him. He has an estranged wife, Daiyu, no children. Ick hasn't seen or heard from his wife since his sentencing. He's starting to think it's no coincidence he hasn't seen or heard from his brother, Avram, in just as long. Ick isn't actively looking for either of them. He wouldn't mind making the divorce official, but as far as he's concerned, the marriage is already over. There's a lot of anger there. Learning about explosives led to learning about combustion, which led to learning about engines, which became an intimate knowledge of how a ship works and how to fix what needs fixing. Cooking comes natural to him because it's a lot like the chemistry it takes to make explosives, except you're trying to NOT blow everything up. Upon his release from prison, he served on a couple of cargo ship crews. His thrift paid off (as well as his share of some big scores) to the point where he was able to open his own mechanics shop in Echo Valley.

Skills and Strengths:  Ick can fix what's ailing your ship and whether you're looking for an explosion to level something or just serve as a diversion, Ick can bring the boom. Also a pretty good cook.

Weaknesses:  Though he can easily understand how things like guns and spaceships work, when it comes to actually using them, he just can't get a feel for it. He knows how to shoot and maintain a firearm, but he's a bit of a piss-poor shot. Good for suppressing fire and the odd lucky shot, but that's about it. And while he knows how to listen to a ship and fix things before they need fixing, ships are eerily silent to him when it comes to piloting.
