Appearance:	Alyssa is a redhead with long wavy hair. She has a pretty face and generally comes across as sweet but every now and then an accidentally sultry expression can cross her features. Her smile is small and her eyes penetrating. She wears simple, practical clothing but tends to have an air of femininity in whatever outfit she chooses. Though not necessary aboard ship she still opts to wear the white coat when performing her role as ship's doctor.

Initial Personality:	There is a hard exterior to Alyssa - not cold, but hard. She's the type that never really lets loose. She is hard-working and if there's a task to be done she is focused on it. She's not unfriendly though, and in her role as a doctor she is just the right amount of caring without being fake.
Underlying Personality:	Alyssa feels like she relaxed once, and nearly ruined her life. So even though she thinks she's left that one, big mistake behind, it still affects her. Alyssa hates to rely on anyone other than herself. She recognizes that sometimes it may be necessary to ask for help. Her problem isn't pride so she can and will ask for help if she needs it but that doesn't change the fact that she hates having to. If she can do something herself, she will. She loves easily but lets her mind rule her heart. Alyssa is an introvert. She doesn't share much of herself with people. She keeps things in.
Known History:	Until recently, Alyssa's existence was fairly mundane. She is the middle child of a comfortable, middle-class family from Osiris. She was both intelligent and hard-working in school and a fascination with science led her to pursue medicine as a career. Her parents were able to offer her financial support throughout university but she insisted on working as a waitress to help out nonetheless. She was in the bottom third of her class academically but her diligence in her placements and never-tire attitude as a resident earned her stellar references. There is one arrest on her record for driving while drunk when she was 18.
Other History:	The drunk-driving arrest was a pivotal moment in Alyssa's life. The summer after graduating was a blur of parties and celebrations. To this day, she doesn't really understand how she went off the rails so badly. It has become a burden of guilt that she thinks she has left behind. She threw herself into her work and studies at university. Her reluctance to party ever again made it difficult for her to socialise but perhaps allowed her to work all the more hard. She didn't do well on written exams despite studying a lot. During her residency, she enjoyed working in the emergency room a lot more than she expected. In fact, she thrived there. However, she decided to take a research position that intrigued her mind, rather than follow her heart and stay in emergency medicine. This research opportunity took her to a lab on St. Albans. The solitude of St. Albans became very alluring to Alyssa and she often went off exploring alone. On one such excursion she came across a trail of blood. She followed it, and discovered Tarintino.
Skills and Strengths:	Medicine. Dr. Garnet is an about-average doctor. She excels in emergency situations but her passion is for neurological research. Calm and Level-headed. Alyssa doesn't freak out about stuff. She accepts people and things as they are, and deals with them as best she can. Confidence in action. Once she decides to do something, Alyssa follows through with confidence. Fitness & Sport. Alyssa keeps fit and healthy. She loves running, both distance and sprinting, and other aerobic activities. She is highly competitive in sporting situations and loves to work up a sweat. Cooking. This is Alyssa's favourite hobby.
Weaknesses:	Fighting. Alyssa has no skill in fighting. Fear of alcohol. Alyssa doesn't drink, ever. She does not trust herself with alcohol and is terrified of losing control under the influence. Piloting. When would she have picked that skill up?
