Brakebills is an institute for higher learning for Magicians.  For those that don't get invited, there's Hedge Witch magic and circles.  Typically they are two different worlds, but now they must unite.  To save the world of Fillory.  A world immortalized in children's books and now under the harsh rule of The Beast.  A Magician gone bad who will do anything to keep the world of Fillory to himself.
