Initial Personality: Initially Cyrus seems very reserved, and rarely uses two words when one will do. When he does speak he seems cynical, harsh, blunt, and unconcerned with what effect his words will have.
Underlying Personality: When around people he is comfortable with his personality comes out a bit more. He talks more, though not a lot more. While still somewhat cynical and blunt, he does care about the effect his words have on those he counts as friends. Above all he speaks his mind. Once you earn his trust he will be a very loyal friend. He is very protective of, and respectful towards women. He is a strong believer in finishing what you start.

Known History: Born in 2486 into a well off middle class family on Persephone. His mother and father were both very successful gunsmiths. Cyrus grew up hunting, and learning his parent's trade. He had a decent upbringing, uneventful for the most part beyond the norm. Shortly after the start of the Unification War in 2506, Cyrus's parents were hired to maintain alliance firearms at a small outpost on Whitefall. They were assured it was safe, and that they would be in no danger, so Cyrus and his parents headed to Whitefall. A few weeks after their arrival there was a small Browncoat raid while Cyrus was at the outpost. The fighting didn't get anywhere near the outpost so Cyrus didn't think much of it. Upon returning home however, he discovered that a stray mortar round had hit his parents house. They were both killed. Shortly after this, Cyrus enlisted in the Alliance Military. After a year he was assigned to the 342nd force recon unit. He remained on active duty through 2512, when he received an honorable discharge at the rank of Gunnery Sargent. From then till now he has been working security for various people/establishments.

Other History: The death of Cyrus's parents both crushed, and enraged him. He waited to enlist only long enough to give his parents a proper burial. He enlisted for the sole purpose of taking revenge on the Browncoats. After his first year he was selected for Special Forces training (specifically recon and tech training), and assigned to the 342nd force recon, a black ops unit which specialized in asset recovery/denial, prisoner extraction, BEL (behind enemy lines) strikes, and hit and run/ambush operations. Cyrus quickly became one of the unit's best point man, and also became quite proficient at hacking/dealing with security systems. He remained with the 342nd until the time of his discharge in 2512. As the war progressed, Cyrus's attitude slowly began to change. The death and carnage he witnessed on the frontlines, and on the more covert, but no less brutal engagements he faced with the 342nd started to change him. On several occasions he came across situations almost identical to his parents, a stray mortar round or bomb hitting a civilian building, killing those inside. And more often than not it was a stray Alliance round.

The anger that had fueled his enlistment slowly cooled. He no longer hated the Browncoats, he hated the war. He kept fighting because he knew that the only way to end the war was to win the war. However, at Serenity Valley he realized the truth, that there are no winners in war, only those that lose, and those that lose worse. After Serenity Valley he lost faith in the Alliance. He finished out his tour of duty and took his honorable discharge. He no longer considered himself as Alliance, just as a man who had seen more than his fair share trying to make his way in the verse. Wandering from place to place, contract to contract, wondering if there's redemption for people like himself.

Skills:Gunsmithing/gun maintenance: He grew up learning his parents trade, and continued to learn, and refine his skills during, and after the war.
Hand to hand combat: His spec ops training and time in the 342nd force recon, taught him to be skilled at hand to hand combat.
Marksmanship: His time spent hunting as a youth, as well as his training and time spent in the war makes Cyrus a highly skilled marksman.
Stealth: If there was one big skill needed in the 342nd it was stealth. If you didn't already have a knack for it that could be improved upon through training and experience, you didn't get assigned to the 342nd.
Tech: The majority of Cyrus's tech skills he gained through the spec ops training he received, and in the field experience. They mostly revolve around disabling/utilizing security systems, data retrieval, hacking door locks, etc. Though he does know he way around the Cortex, his skill there is rather limited.
Driver: Cyrus is a very skilled driver of land based craft, anything with wheels, and to a much lesser extent hovercraft. These kinds of vehicles were used decently often in his operations with the 342nd.

Weaknesses:Aside from the most basic knowledge about engines (is the battery dead, are the spark plugs attached, is there gas in the tank, etc) Cyrus knows nothing about vehicle engines or how to fix them, let alone starship engines.
While he is a skilled driver of land vehicles, he has zero skill at piloting anything that flies.
Cyrus has a bit of a weakness for whisky. He doesn't get drunk overly often, but when he does the hangovers are spectacular. Sometimes when the dreams about the war are particularly relentless whisky is the only thing that helps him sleep. He is very inactive when getting drunk, he tends to just sit, think, and drink.
Cyrus is plagued by several recurring nightmares about the war, and his parents deaths.
