  • Chimera: Interesting application, von Luckner!  It seems with Poly's interest in Earth-that-Was antiquities, that he might have run into Jinmei during the period where she was forging a lot of art...

Finding Serenity

Finding Serenity is an original-character roleplay set in Joss Whedon's Firefly 'Verse. Events take place after the events of the Serenity movie.

The year is 2519.

Earth-That-Was is long gone. Humans found a new group of solar systems with dozens of planets and hundreds of moons. The "Core" planets are civilised, high-tech and under Alliance control. The "Border" worlds are diverse and distinct. The "Rim" is the wild west of the 'verse and the "Black" is where our ships travel, hoping to avoid the perils of space: Alliance, pirates, and the monsters known as Reavers.

So here we are, on the "raggedy edge". This is where our characters live. There are those who stick by the Alliance Government, those who want to rise up against it, and those that just don't care either way as long as they can make a living. With every turn, every choice put forward and every decision made we are FINDING SERENITY

Where I've been
« on: September 01, 2018, 11:21:36 PM »
So, I guess its not technically a leave of absence since I've still been around... sort of, but "might not be around for a few days" has turned into much longer and I felt like I should make a post about it.

Been dealing with a lot lately, usual life stresses, getting ready to move (first time ever, and it'll be a good 5-6 hour drive away from all my RL friends), annnnnd dealing with an extended family member passing soon (cancer can go f#%k itself).

So I've been having a real tough time finding the spark to get posts up. Also once the move actually happens I'm not sure how much free time I will have, so I may end up having to drop some characters... but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

But anyways, I'm still here, I'll post when I can, and I apologize if I'm holding things up anywhere.

Cancer really is the worst, and moving is ridiculously stressful, especially if you're leaving your support network behind. Sorry to hear you've got so much crap on your plate right now. Take care of yourself and I'm sending you best wishes. :)

Thanks Scout, I'm trying.

I just got back from a 5 day trip with my parents to check out a potential city and surrounding area. I will try and get caught up with things later today or tomorrow. Apologies about the lack of a heads up. Things have been rough.

Apologies for my recent absence, been a rough holiday season for me. Trying to get back into the swing of things though. Fingers crossed

Moving is seriously a big deal.  Every single routine you've got gets thrown off.  And that's true if there's nothing else you've got to deal with.  Add anything else on top of it, and it really feels like the difficulty scales logarithmically... It takes time to get back to a sense of normalcy, but it all does settle out eventually.  Hope that's happening for you!

Don't worry about it, Axe. Hopefully things get a little less crazy for you soon!
