Leroy 'Monte' Delmonte

Date of Birth:  2487 (32)
Gender:  Male

Primary Occupation:  Mechanic
Secondary Occupation:  Co-Pilot/General Hand
Requested Ship:  Any
Equipment:  Just your basic items needed to live along with a prized tool chest. Also has his own welder and other related tools. Doesn't own a sidearm but knows what end to hold if needed. (update.....has a revolver)

Appearance:  Leroy has made it to thirty two years of life, which surprises him at times. He stands just about 5' 9" tall. He wears faded brown overalls most times along with an old hat. He is of average build, nothing that would catch your eye, with light colored hair. Rarely is he ever seen clean shaven and sports long sideburns most times.

Face Claim:  Steve Zahn

Initial Personality:  Leroy is fairly comfortable in social settings, not overly boastful, unless it has to do with anything mechanical. He comes across as a backwater planet hick with a big heart. Very intuitive with inanimate objects...not so much with his carbon based counterparts.

Underlying Personality:  Pretty much with Leroy what you see is what you get, there is not much more under the surface except maybe a sense of humor that he shares with those he is comfortable around. Leroy hasn't come across many folks he doesn't like, if he does he just steers clear of them if he can. Leroy works harder than he likes you to know, but also likes to let you think he knows more than he does.

Known History:  Born on the back world of Triumph, Leroy had no contact with modern technology. His family and those of his settlement lived like the Amish from Earth-That-Was. Leroy learned to farm as was the custom for men as the ladies waited to be married off. He always had a mechanical sense about him, always trying to invent an easier way to do things around the farm. Most times the Elders would scold him for his ideas and destroy the things he had built.

One day their village was visited by bandits. They stole what goods they owned and roughed up anyone that got in there way. On this particular raid they killed a couple older men while making off with a half dozen ladies from the Maiden House. Leroy happened to be there that day and though he was sworn to pacifism, a teaching he didn't totally hold to, he gave chase. To make a long story short, he had the tar beat out of him and left for dead.

It was after this that Leroy made it his goal to leave Triumph and see the 'Verse. A short time later he bought passage working as a deck hand on a transport headed off world toward the Core. The next five years Leroy bounced about ship to ship. Every job he learned, assembling knowledge about engines and a multitude of mechanical equipment. His natural talent lay dormant on Triumph but now he shown like a new born star.

Leroy now finds himself on Ariel working a dock in Ausar City. His last ride ran into a bit of Alliance trouble, unlawful salvage. Without a ship he picked up work planet side where he could, the usual fair, mostly working the docks and whatever repairs that are needed. As with any job, the work is full of long hours and most times tedious. But Leroy loves it when he gets a chance to get his hands on a good Compression Coil or Catalyzer, or perhaps a good Artificial Gravity Failure repair.

Other History: Served as Chief Mechanic aboard Aradia's Redemption for a short time. A lot of the information surrounding AR's last days have been classified. In the end Leroy found himself on Ezra, broke with a large caliber revolver added to his tool box to show for his efforts. Also a handfull of unanswered questions.

Recent History: After his quick and sudden departure from AR, Leroy found a home on Luna for a season trying to keep the old Firefly Class vessel flying. The last four years has found Leroy back to job hopping once again. After the 'Miranda Event' he found employment for a short spell as an outsourced mechanic on military craft. Though demanding at the time, it put food in his belly. Leroy is looking to find a home on a privately owned ship that he can once again call home, pickings are slim at best but is seems his luck is about to change.

Skills and Strengths:  Grade A Engineer with a specialty in metalworking. Loves tinkering with all types of machinery even if it isn't broken. Piloting if it only involves keeping a flying ship up and straight, take offs and landings...not so much. When it comes to interplanetary vehicles he is very perceptive to their needs.

Weaknesses:  Always tinkering even when it's best to just sit still. Not good in a bar room brawl. Loyal to a fault.
