  • Desertpuma: Unfortunately, real life has been pretty busy .. I'll try to get a post up on Ronin today
    July 29, 2017, 05:21:45 PM
  • Clare: Velocity doesn't expect to survive; that just happens
    July 28, 2017, 09:10:13 AM
  • Desertpuma: once the ship gets going, will she survive Ronin?
    July 22, 2017, 11:38:44 PM
  • Clare: And the madness begins. Will Ronin be able to survive Velocity?
    July 21, 2017, 10:09:03 AM
  • Scout: If I were to revive any of my old characters Pele would be the one, she was fun. But hell if  I know how I'd fill the time line gap.
    July 19, 2017, 08:42:17 PM
  • Scout: for example I remember Laurie and Velocity having a rivalry but not really the details of it or Laurie's relationship with any other crew members
    July 19, 2017, 08:40:54 PM
  • Scout: I have all my old character bios saved but I wish I also had pre-crash posts because my memory of them is so fuzzy

  • Scout: History is good
    July 19, 2017, 08:38:55 PM
  • Clare: I'm a bad, bad girl
    July 19, 2017, 07:58:45 PM
  • Clare: Beth and Ian have history which is why I was thinking of dropping her in, given the situation between Ian and Abbey :D
    July 19, 2017, 07:58:39 PM
  • Scout: Plus confession: I'm scared of playing mechanics because I am very bad at both actual engineering and writing technobabble nonsense :D
    July 19, 2017, 03:58:00 PM
  • Scout: I guess Bri could be re-worked into a mechanic fairly easily, but I didn't get to play with her enough for her to come into her own so I don't really even remember where I was going with her at this point
    July 19, 2017, 03:57:20 PM
  • Scout: Mattie's just a gunhand
    July 19, 2017, 08:29:30 AM
  • Clare: I guess she could have retrained as a mechanic in the intervening years
    July 19, 2017, 07:35:13 AM
  • Clare: If the ship needed a geologist, throwing Beth into the mix could be amusing :D
    July 19, 2017, 07:32:38 AM
  • Velocity Grey-Lambert: Hopefully she won't drive everyone insane
    July 19, 2017, 07:31:58 AM
  • Desertpuma: also in need of a mechanic, another skill that is not Lin's strength but he can handle many basic repairs
    July 19, 2017, 12:53:37 AM
  • Desertpuma: In answer to your queries .. the only people on board Ronin that are posting are myself, Abbey and Ian. The ship is grounded and there was an intermittent message call sent out. Lin is a passable pilot but not much beyond the basics. So Velocity would be welcome
    July 19, 2017, 12:52:57 AM
  • Desertpuma: Good to see the site back up .. got an email notice of a couple of threads getting responses so I thought I would check in.

Think Galen might leave Brandt shortly and catch up with the rest of the crew. ;)

Hey cowboy I know we're still doing our aside, but that should be wrapped up soon so feel free to go right ahead and jump in the main action for the group thread.

For everyone's information, the Nautilus now has, but  for handwaving and continuity's sake we'll say it's always been there, but the Nautilus has an arboretum now that expands maybe half the length of the ship on one of the lower decks. It has artificial lighting and weather, so it has a night and a day and even rains and snows and stuff per the season. It's a scientific based arboretum but obviously can be used for crew recreation. It has different sections of garden like there's tundra, savannah, tropical, and woodland areas, and even like a Chinese meditation garden with a coi(sp?) pond and cherry blossom tree etc. These sections each maintain their own climate/weather/eco system. There are swimmable pools and leisure areas, as well as science labs dedicated to the study of plants and botany from every climate.

It also has a small recreation lounge on the same deck that has a two lane bowling alley, a few arcade games, and a small, very small, like 15 seater movie theatre.

ALRIGHT! GUYS! HEre's the deal!

So we have Leelan on board as our ship's medic.

And while I am still working on getting him approved and switched over, please join me in welcoming Wild Fruit Cat to our team who will be bringing his character Natan, or he prefers 'Sean' on board as our engineer.

A little backstory here on Sean is that After the fiasco of their failed rescue mission, Bert comes to Brandt asking for his help with a friend of his. This 'friend' is Sean. Sean got himself in some trouble for drunk and disorderly, ironic as this is also kind of how one of our first Nautilus threads ended up going, hah. Brandt and co go to bail Sean out. Bert and Sean stay aboard, Bert showing Sean the ropes for a few months before he declares that he is retiring. That the life has just gotten to be too much for him and Bert is taking a cushy R and D job offer that Brandt had set up himself. Or something like that. Sean is then staying on as Chief Engineer.

So, long story short, Sean is our new Engineer. Brandt trusts him due to Bert's word that Sean is legit. Sean has been aboard for the past couple months so.

GREEN?

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to playing with you. I've been trying to catch up on posts and the Nautilus background, but if I mess something up feel free to let me know.

Ok karp. Love Iona, but she's being a little too pre-emptive with the taking off and stuff. Lol

There's gonna be an actual relaunch ceremony very similar to the first one the ship ever had, only this one will be crew only. Brandt's gonna give a speech. It's basically the bon voyage party before they jet. So... Pike is welcome to seek Brandt out or request a meeting with him, or check their pre-flight regs and stuff but they're not leaving yet.

No prob bob!

Also everyone welcome Karp with Iona. Iona and Jack have some established history which is how iona ended up with the job. They were war buddies or something I think? Right? Anyway, if one of y'all wanna like fill in the rest of how Jack and Iona met and stuff that'd be cool.

Welcome Iona!

Jack and Iona were assigned to the same base for the first couple years of the war. Iona provided close air support for Jack and his squad on several occasions, as his assignments usually had him operating behind enemy lines, or very close to the lines where things tended to get interesting very fast. During down time on base, per Jacks usual policy of being on good terms with everyone, he and his squad bought Iona some beers after the first time she got them out of a sticky situation, and thus a friendship began and developed over the next couple years. Then later on in the war Iona got shot down and Jack and his squad, returning from a deep strike mission with sensitive intell, diverted and saved her from the wreckage.

Howdy Iona. Welcome aboard and looking forward to playing with you too Cowboy. This is the Wild Fruit Cat by the bye, but for some reason I can only reply as Sean. Quick question. Should I go a head and post a response to Iona or wait till Brandt posts first?

We seem to have hit something of a summer drought and I just want to check in with people. See if anyone was still about.
