With the cargo bay doors shut and Ronin leaving the Greenleaf Skyplex headed toward Shadow, Lin turned to those in the cargo bay area. "Everyone new get your bags up to the main deck and then meet in Ops in five minutes. Vega, I'll need you to give them a quick tour. The usual stuff: engine room, galley, med bar, maybe the armory .. we'll need to find bunks for everyone."

Lin jogged up the stairway to the main deck then swiftly made his way forward toward his cabin. Passing by the stairwell to the galley, he could hear footsteps which sounded like Velocity's footfalls. Maybe she had come back on board while he was at the Thirsty Camel. A few steps forward more and he saw Alyssa in the med bay. "I thought you were getting off the ship. Or was it just to help your friend find a better facility for treatment?"

Jerilyn Gordon

At the top of the stairs, jerilyn straightened when Lin came through. She shifted her duffle, and started to follow him. He didn't seem to notice, and she took the moment to look over more of the ship. By the looks of it, there wasn't much in the way of bunk space, but she had certainly been in worse situations.

"I can hot-bunk, if it's a problem."

Abenette Kelker

Abe got back to Ronin easy peasy and didn't much run into any trouble.  Her and Ian kind of stayed in the background.  They didn't get to talk much, but it was good just to spend some "alone" time.  Well...  As much alone as you can get in the middle of a busy bar.

"Everyone new get your bags up to the main deck and then meet in Ops in five minutes. Vega, I'll need you to give them a quick tour. The usual stuff: engine room, galley, med bay, maybe the armory .. we'll need to find bunks for everyone."

One thing nice about already being on board was that they didn't have to mess with the whole sorting out cabin assignments and such.  And she was already sharing one.  Sure, it was with Ian, so it was almost like they had a private cabin.

"I guess the next stop for us is Ops.  I've got no reason ta disarm.  Folks are new.  I'd rather like ta settle down with them a bit before that," she looked at Ian and rolled her eyes.  "Yes, I know I am paranoid, but I would like ta just think of it as extremely cautious."

She looked over at Kuei and saw the Doc standing there.

"I thought you were getting off the ship. Or was it just to help your friend find a better facility for treatment?"

Doc was thinking about leaving?  That made her nervous.  If she did, she needed to get the name of the medicine she gave her to combat the nausea she was experiencing and get the correct dosage.

"I hope the Doc doesn't leave.  Havin' a medical person here makes me feel a little less anxious," she commented.  "But then again, her friend is a bit messed up.  Maybe she would rather be with him ta care for him.  My needs won't be for a while and he has issues now."

She shrugged and held out her hand for Ian to take.

"Shall we go to Ops?"

Helena looked over the brown haired beauty, she was gorgeous.   He seemed distracted with everything else going on, so Helena took it upon herself to show the passenger around, "Don't worry miss most of us know how to keep our whits about ourselves when a pretty woman appears. I'll show you where to put your things." She gave Vega  quick  grin and a pat and and walked towards the passengers quarters,

"My names Helena, I'll be showing you where you're staying miss....?" Helena put out her hand towards the brunette, probably in a more unladylike like fashion than she was used to.

Iris Reale

Whether or not she was fully prepared for the path she'd stepped onto, Iris was on board Ronin and they were leaving. Far from acceptance as crew, she felt more pulled aboard in an urgent need to leave. Quickly. Whatever the reason, there was some small satisfaction that she was at least on board. Staying aboard might prove more difficult if she were in fact only pulled aboard for a quick exit. From her perspective, it was best not to assume as the captain had given no word either way. Glancing around at the remaining crew, she idly wondered which one was Vega. Thankfully, a lovely young woman gave him away.

"Don't worry miss most of us know how to keep our whits about ourselves when a pretty woman appears. I'll show you where to put your things. My names Helena, I'll be showing you where you're staying miss....?"

The proffered hand was taken gently and was accompanied by an inclined head. "Iris. It is a pleasure, Helena. And," she glanced to the man Helena had given a pat to, "Vega?" Her eyes looked them both over, a calm and pleasant smile in place. "I do appreciate you showing me where to put my things. I'd rather not wander lost and miss out on the meeting the captain mentioned." With ease, Iris released the hand shake and then lifted the trunk and the smaller, more slender case in which she kept her violin. Her smile grew a little as she relaxed a little. She was aboard. That was a good start. "After you."

Vega Barnet

Vega nodded as Lin left, and was about to turn and ask Miss Reale to follow him, but Helena interjected before he could open his mouth. She also gave him a friendly verbal jab and a pat on the arm, which earned her a "ha ha, very funny" look from him.

Quote"Iris. It is a pleasure, Helena. And," she glanced to the man Helena had given a pat to, "Vega?"

"Yes Ma'am, Vega Barnet. Pleased to meet you." He said, giving her a friendly look. "Helena gives much better tours than I do anyways. I'll see you both in Ops." He grinned and slipped past them, heading up to his room to shed his jacket and retrieve his second revolver.

Lin continued to address Dr. Garnet. "Well, maybe he'll get the help he needs. Probably was not the best bet to have him on this ship given what we are going to be doing. Meeting in Ops in five minutes. We have new people on board."

He left the med bay and stepped forward into the Ops area then leaned forward into the cockpit. "Nat, when we get close to Shadow let me know. We are landing on one of its moons. Just do not want to advertise our destination quite yet. If anyone asks, we are landing on Shadow to look for something that might have survived the bombardment. Dong ma?"

Helena's stare lingered on Vega slightly as he left, her attention quickly brought back to Iris.

"Nice to meet you Iris." She gave the amazonian a friendly smile, wondering how a woman like her ended up on a boat like this. Helena walked up the stairs and led Iris to the stair well leading down to the passenger quarters, she stopped in front of the doors and pointed towards the open door, "This is your room ,galley's just above us should you find your self hankering for some space food." She gave the woman polite smile, "Apologies for the craziness around here, we left from the prior establishment in a hurry." She smiled nervously, "Feel free to get settled, or you can follow me up to ops, it's just straight ahead at the top of the stairs...I'll be heading up now." Helena nodded politely and skipped up the stairs towards ops.

Iris Reale

Iris carried her things and followed Helena, making mental note of the places mentioned as the quick tour progressed. Once at the room she would be staying in, Iris gave her new shipmate a faint nod and watched where the woman headed. An amused smile flickered at the woman's speed at hurrying off. Whether it was the oddity of the new arrivals or just hurrying to the meeting, Iris wasn't quite certain. 'Hopefully the latter.' Turning away from the stairs, she gently pushed on the door to open it. Upon entering the room, she noted the bunk beds and simply set her things inside and out of the way. She could see to unpacking a little later. As it was, there was a meeting to attend and it was outside of her nature to be late to such things.

Her things left behind, Iris took the stairs she'd seen Helena take. 'Ops is straight ahead at the top of the stairs,' she mentally repeated her guides words. Shortly, she found herself in the intended destination. Stepping in quietly, she moved to one side of the door opting to stay more out of the way and allow those who were established crew to have closer proximity to their captain. As the wait began, Iris let her eyes wander over the room before her.

Jerilyn Gordon

Jeri stood in the central corridor, having lost track of Lin and was just trying to avoid being trampled by the other crew and passengers as they were walked to their assorted staterooms. She sighed and tucked her duffle into a corner and made her way to the Ops room. Having served on a Jo-Lynn before, she felt right at home and wondered if there had been any adjustments to the ship layout.

Once in Ops, she took a seat in one of the available chairs. Just as she settled in, two women entered. She smiled at them.

“Hi. I’m Jerilyn Gordon. New comp specialist and I guess backup pilot.”

Lin Kuei

Lin turned back from the cockpit as the others started gathering into the Ops area. "Looks like we are all here more or less. A few of you have been here long enough to know what I am about to say. Probably heard something similar on other ships so I will just say it. We have a job we are on. It takes precedence. Some of you may have heard of it by reputation or you have been here long enough to see it in action. As it is, Vega is the second longest crew member on board as of a couple of months ago." Lin gave a brief nod in his direction.

"We are currently making a side trip so I can go see someone who will give us information crucial to taking on Nikola Kang and help Ian Dugan get his ship, The Glory, back. It has its own name to revitalize too. Right now, we are headed to one of the moons in Shadow's orbit. A local crimelord there is supposed to have relevant information we need. I figured we'd get his attention by knocking over the local bank he runs. And, yes, me acquiring this information is why the scuffle originated on the Greenleaf Skyplex. I'm guessing we will be there in a few days. Any questions?"

Lin took a quick look around the room and hoped the crew would be able to pull things off. His mind turned back to the situation at hand. "Helena, will you show anyone missing their bunk to it? ... I'll meet with all new crew over the next day to settle what may be needed of them. Dong ma?" Lin wanted everything to go smoothly but that did not always happen.

Jerilyn had come in right before the captain, leaving Helena little time to reply.  She waved politely, waiting till the captain finished to introduce her self. Helena had heard about Ronin in her adventures across the 'verse. They were usually known for a rough and tumble crew.  Generally prone to violence of some sort and usually involved some kind of crime lord. It sounded like they were still in the same line of business. Her heart skipped a bit at the idea of rescuing the Glory, she had her own set of adventures on that boat.   Plus knocking over a bank sounds just down right exciting.

Quote"Helena, will you show anyone missing their bunk to it? ... I'll meet with all new crew over the next day to settle what may be needed of them. Dong ma?

She waited for any questions to be asked and answered before responding to the captain.

"Aye Aye cap't." Helena gave Lin a nod and looked towards Jerilyn, "Sorry I didn't get a chance to introduce myself earlier, name's Helena.  It's good to meet you, I'll be showing you to your room in just a moment." Helena approached Vega,  "You know we still haven't had a chance to catch up, after I show our new crew where to guy, would you care to grab a drink? I'm sure we can find something in the galley."

Jeri listened to the captain explain the direction they were heading, and a brief chill ran through her at the mention of Nicola’s name. His reputation preceded him. Everywhere. Then the thought of running a bank job against another mob boss... that tickled her interest.

Then Helena introduced herself and the two of them headed out to find Jeri’s stateroom. As Helena paused to talk to Vega, Jeri hefted her duffle and slid the strap back onto her shoulder. Then they exited and as they walked, she chatted.

“I was stationed on a similar boat as this during the War. I shouldn’t need much to get around. Suppose there’s a few modifications here and there, but nothing too drastic. She seems a good boat, for sure.” She studied the walls and decking as they went; certain familiarity creeping back in.

Vega Barnet

Vega gave a little wave to the new crew members when Lin said his name. The mention of knocking over another crime lords bank reminded him of Luke and Victoria, and a shadow briefly crossed his face. With everyone still focused on Lin he didn't think anyone noticed though.

Lin finished his speech and asked Helena to show the new backup pilot to her bunk, but she came over and spoke to him first.

Quote"You know we still haven't had a chance to catch up, after I show our new crew where to bunk, would you care to grab a drink? I'm sure we can find something in the galley."

He smiled. "We haven't, have we. I would indeed like that. Hopefully this time it wont be interrupted by a brawl breaking out." It would be good to finally catch up with Helena. They'd gotten along pretty well during their time aboard the Horizon, though it had definitely been more of a "crew member and XO relationship" at the time, at least until he'd gotten himself shot and been carted off to a hospital. Now that they were both crew he was interested to see how their friendship would change. Though he still had trouble not thinking of her as his XO.

Monty

Leroy snuck in just as the Captain began speaking, he gave a quick wave to Helena before slipping into a seat. He already knew what Lin was going to say and as far as his part in it, at the moment at least, was keeping Ronin flying. Leroy would deal with whatever violence was needed as it arose for now he was content to be in the Black with grease under his fingernails and smudges on his forehead.

Iris Reale

Iris had taken time to look over those assembled, studying faces, expressions and reactions as well as body language as the captain spoke. While she'd heard a few stories, it was a far different matter to be seeing this crew and standing among them and hearing the details of what they were going to be doing. If she was surprised at all at the prospect of robbing a bank, it didn't show. Throughout the meeting, she kept the mask of calm serenity in place, even as her mind mulled over the situation.

"I'll meet with all new crew over the next day to settle what may be needed of them. Dong ma?"

As the meeting wrapped up, she gave only the faintest of nods at the brief eye contact the captain gave her and every other crew member. The mention of having a meeting with new crew over the next day or two gave indication that, for now her presence wasn't required. Quietly, she slipped from ops after offering a smile and nod to Vega and Helena as she passed and made her way back to the room she'd been shown to. A few minutes alone were needed, to gather her thoughts and to change.

Lin Kuei

As the meeting broke up, Lin waited for a few moments until the room was mostly clear. Turning to Nat, he relayed an order. "When you can see Shadow and her moons, let me know. I'll be in my quarters." He slipped out of Ops and headed toward Vega's room just long enough to remind him to run a weapons check once their destination was in sight.

Moving on to his own room, Lin set about boiling a kettle for his favorite drink of tea. The chance respite from the rest of the ship, amid the lack of actual downtime on the Greenleaf Skyplex, provided him with a few quiet moments. While he left his door ajar, the Captain intended to relax a bit. As soon as the water was boiled, he set up creating the tea and then relaxing with the cup resting in his open hand.

Quote"We haven't, have we. I would indeed like that. Hopefully this time it wont be interrupted by a brawl breaking out."

Helena grinned in response, "Be back in a flash, meet you at your room." She turned on heel and walked back to Jerilyn,

"Sorry about that, he's an old friend and we haven't had a chance to catch up." Still grinning Helena looked back at Vega and then to Jerilyn, she nodded forward towards the passage way, "Your room is this way."

Quote"I was stationed on a similar boat as this during the War. I shouldn't need much to get around. Suppose there's a few modifications here and there, but nothing too drastic. She seems a good boat, for sure."

Helena nodded, "Aye she's certainly a sturdy boat....Never been on one like this myself, but she's proven to be faithful. Even after the beating she took." Helena took a right  and came upon Jerilyn's room, "Well this is your room, you'll be sharing with Nat, who's around here some where.  She's a bit of a talker but friendly enough...Pleasure meetin' you, anything else you need before I head off?"

Jerilyn Gordon

Jerilyn looked around the room and certain nostalgia creeping in. The dropped her bag into one corner, and shrugged off her jacket.

"Oh, thanks. I think I'm good for now.  I'll get settled in and then I'll want to look over the computer and bridge. Just to get familiar with any upgrades. If that's ok?"

Lin Kuei

It had been four days since Ronin left Greenleaf Skyplex. In the intervening time, Lin had gone over things with the newer crew. He lead them around the ship to make sure they knew where the exercise area was located along with the galley and the armory. He wanted them to be sure they knew where  things were should a crisis occur.

With Jerilyn, Lin showed her the computer system with the upgrades constantly being improved by the nanites invested in the system a few years ago. Part of the strength of the system was how the sensors were extended to pickup things from distance. The nanites were pushing anti-virus programs in overlapping cycles.

With Iris, Lin made sure she spent sometime with Alyssa so she could see how the doctor worked in the Med Bay in case she needed help. He also showed her where Victoria had kept everything in the kitchen. The inference was obvious. They would need food cooked and the galley was well stocked.

Making his way to the cargo bay, Lin gathered up the new hydroponics setup. It was not too heavy and he took it down through the center of the ship to replace the old one. It took only a few hours before he was completed. Once finished, Lin made his way to the cockpit to check in on their progress toward Shadow.
